Tribal Publishing now stocked in-store and online
The latest titles published by Tribal Books are now available in our web store and in-store.
In tattooing, everyone's mind automatically goes to the tribal tattoo when they hear the word tribal.
When I chose the name for the fanzine years ago, the tattoo tour and eventually for the books, I had something else in mind: Our Tribe, Our Tribal behaviors, Our History and Our Traditions.
In our fast-moving society, these things often get lost or worse, don't matter to folks, to begin with. Our goal is to preserve tattoo history first and foremost and to represent with our books the best of the past and present, offering the reader a unique look into the world of tattooing. - Patrick Kitzel

South of Heaven exhibition
Our very own SpiderXDeath has been busy working on his latest group show South of Heaven. It opens this Friday the 16th of June at China Heights in Sydney.
“Today's artists in hardcore punk pursue their art in different mediums while also often continuing to support their scenes and the genre in the same ways their predecessors before them did.
China Heights' South Of Heaven is a continuation of that tradition. It showcases art from the arenas of hardcore punk and metal where it's been as reflected in the artists' influences, the current state, and potentially what the future looks like.
Melbourne's Spider is a mainstay in the country's tenacious and vaunted hardcore punk scene. He runs Winter Garden Records, a punk label which has most recently worked with Japanese punk legends Crow (a release featuring original artwork from Spider). Additionally, he tattoos at Melbourne Tattoo Co, one of the country's most famous and celebrated tattoo shops.” - by James Khubiar
Group exhibition by SpiderXDeath featuring Alex Heir (USA), Funeral French (UK), Rok (AUS) and Taketo Ikegami (JP)
Winged Tiger
Over the last few months, Oliver has been busy working away on his cousin Alex’s back piece. Alex travels over to Melbourne from Christchurch NZ. On his latest visit, Alex displayed great strength in sitting for back to back sessions on his winged tiger. He also snuck in a tattoo from Doc as well! Background to come on his next trip.
